How It Works

A simple, safe, and guided VR experience — step by step

InnerWorld is designed to be easy to use, even with no prior experience in VR or mental health tools. The experience is short, gentle, and fully optional.

What is the InnerWorld VR experience?

A brief immersive session (3–6 minutes) inside Virtual Reality that guides you through:

  • Breathing exercises
  • Grounding techniques
  • Body awareness
  • Calming visual environments

There is no performance, no “right way”, and no pressure to talk.

What it is not

  • Not a game
  • Not therapy
  • Not a replacement for professional support

What happens during a session?

  1. Before: Sit comfortably, remove distractions, check in with yourself.
  2. Entering VR: A calm environment, slow guidance, freedom to engage or rest.
  3. VR session: 3–6 minutes of breathing, grounding, or body awareness.
  4. After: Grounding and optional reflection or sharing.

How long does it take?

  • 3–6 minutes — VR experience
  • 5–10 minutes — preparation & grounding
  • Optional — short reflection

Total time: around 10–20 minutes.

Is InnerWorld safe?

Safety is built into every step: preparation, short sessions, clear stop rules, and facilitator protocols.

What do users usually feel?

Most participants report feeling calmer, more focused, less overwhelmed and more connected to their body. Some may feel mild dizziness at first (usually temporary), emotional release and tiredness after deep relaxation. All of this is normal and monitored through the project’s safety approach.

Who can start using InnerWorld?

InnerWorld is designed so that:

  • Organizations can implement it easily
  • Facilitators can learn quickly
  • Users can feel safe from the first session
